Ingredients

  • 1 20-ounce) package of store-bought ravioli, (cheese or meat-filled)
  • cups marinara sauce
  • 2 cups grated mozzarella cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Be sure to position the rack in the middle of the oven.
  2. Add the spices to the pasta sauce and combine. Spread about ½ a cup of marinara sauce on the bottom of a 8x8 inch baking dish and then arrange about 12 ravioli in a single layer over the sauce. Spoon 1 cup of marinara sauce over the ravioli, spreading it evenly and then sprinkle 1 cup of grated mozzarella cheese over the sauce.
  3. Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes.
  4. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted.
  5. Let the pasta dish cool for 5 minutes before serving. Enjoy your easy and delicious lazy lasagna!

Notes

Serving Suggestion: Garnish with fresh basil or parsley for a pop of color and extra flavor. I like to serve this easy lazy lasagna recipe with a side salad and garlic bread for a complete meal.
Frozen Ravioli: Store-bought frozen ravioli replaces traditional lasagna noodles, saving time and effort. You can choose cheese or meat-filled ravioli based on your preference. For a healthier option, I recommend trying spinach ravioli.
Marinara sauce: This tomato-based sauce provides the classic Italian flavor profile. You can use homemade sauce for a personal touch, your favorite spaghetti sauce or experiment with any flavored store-bought sauce like roasted garlic or basil.
Mozzarella cheese: Mozzarella adds the essential gooey, melty texture to the dish. For a twist, try a mix of mozzarella, parmesan cheese and cottage cheese, or use a dairy-free alternative.
Italian seasoning: This herb blend typically includes basil, oregano, rosemary, and thyme, adding depth to the flavor. You can create your own blend or use individual herbs to customize the taste.
Onion and garlic powder: These add savory notes without the need for fresh onions and garlic. For a more intense flavor, you could use minced fresh onions and garlic cloves instead.
